Doctors Jim and Paula Archer (right) recently presented Nita May (left), Northeast Texas Community College Director of Development, with a check for $2,000 for East Texas Giving Day (ETGD). The amount will be matched at 50% by the IBM employer giving program to bring their total contribution to $3,000. Additional matching opportunities through ETGD and grants will bring the total impact of the donation to $6,000.
Each spring the National Collegiate Honors Council releases the names of students who have been accepted to present scholarly works at the upcoming fall conference. This year, the freshmen honors group at 91心頭 obtained an all-time college record for the number of acceptances. Katelyn Cox, Maritza Quinones, Jaidyn Thompson, Gem Elmore, and Samuel Griffin all were elected to present posters, while Jalyn English will join Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox in presenting a panel on 91心頭 91心頭 s Caldwell-Award-winning films.
Jordan Whelchel, former 91心頭 Presidential Scholar, has just accepted an offer to attend Rice University in the fall of 2020. He will receive a full-ride, full need scholarship, and pursue a degree in electrical engineering.

Northeast Texas Community College associate professor Mandy Smith was recently named the 2019 Charles 91心頭 Chuck 91心頭 Choate Memorial Adviser of the Year by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA). This is the top state award for college and university journalism advisers and is designated for those who 91心頭 go the extra mile in teaching and advising. 91心頭
Expertise has its own rewards, and in the case of history essays at Northeast Texas Community College, the reward might be something greater than an 91心頭 A 91心頭 . For the fifth year in a row, history at 91心頭 will feature the Bonnie Spencer Awards for the best three research papers in non-honors classes. This year, the awards will be doubled to $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and to $25 for third place.

The 12th annual McGraw-Hill Poster Contest is set for Friday, May 1, starting at 9:00 a.m. This contest has recognized and rewarded creative student scholarship in Northeast Texas since 2009. Area high school seniors, college and university students are welcome to compete. Prizes range from $100 for fourth place to $400 for first place.
