The Northeast Texas Community College Police Department recently welcomed its newest officer, Marco Garrett, during a swearing-in ceremony held on campus.
Garrett, a Mount Pleasant native and graduate of the 91¿´Æ¬ Police Academy, officially joined the department after taking the oath of office administered by 91¿´Æ¬ Police Chief Russell Radke. 91¿´Æ¬ President Dr. Kevin Rose was present for the ceremony to sign his commission certificate, while Dr. Jon McCullough, Executive Vice President for Advancement, pinned on his badge.
Garrett brings nearly two decades of law enforcement and public safety experience to 91¿´Æ¬. His career has included service with the Winnsboro Police Department, Harrison County Fire Marshal's Office, City of Longview, City of Marshall, and Smith County Adult Probation, where he most recently served as a fugitive investigator. He holds a Master Peace Officer certification and is fluent in Spanish.
