The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees voted Tuesday to name Dr. Ron Clinton President Emeritus in recognition of his more than 40 years of service to the college.
Clinton retired in June after serving as 91心頭 91心頭 s fifth president since 2017. His career at the college spanned roles from professor of philosophy, humanities and music to executive vice president for instruction before becoming president.
During his presidency, Clinton guided 91心頭 through the COVID-19 pandemic, established the college 91心頭 s own police department, and championed student success and campus safety initiatives. He also earned state and national recognition, including the Phi Theta Kappa Shirley B. Gordon Presidential Award of Distinction and induction into the Phi Theta Kappa Texas President 91心頭 s Hall of Fame.
Clinton becomes only the second President Emeritus in 91心頭 history. The first was Dr. Charles Florio, who led the college from 1995 to 2008.

The resolution naming him President Emeritus was formally adopted at Tuesday 91心頭 s board meeting.
