The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $1,000 gift from Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery. They are pictured presenting the gift to Nita May (right), 91¿´Æ¬ Director of Development. Their gift, along with donations from numerous other friends, provided a total $7,500 to fund deserving projects submitted to the annual Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund grant. Each year, 91¿´Æ¬ employees submit applications for innovative projects that go above-and-beyond what can be funded with their departmental budgets. This year, $9,000 was awarded through the competitive grant. Mary Lou Mowery, who serves on the selection committee, wanted to ensure that even more projects were funded. The Mowery 91¿´Æ¬ ’s $1,000 gift, plus an additional $2,000 she helped raised privately, specifically provided support to several annual Honors Northeast projects.
