Alpha Mu Chi, 91¿´Æ¬ 91¿´Æ¬ ’s award-winning, Five Star chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, hosted a District III New Officer Training Meeting on July 20. Attending the meeting held in the campus Community Room were new chapter officers and advisors from 91¿´Æ¬, Trinity Valley Community College, Paris Junior College, Tyler Junior College, and Kilgore College.
Jacob Lambie, the Texas Regional District III Vice-President, and a Presidential Honors Scholar at 91¿´Æ¬, coordinated and led the event. Blake Ellis, Phi Theta Kappa 91¿´Æ¬ ’s Senior Associate Vice-President of Student Engagement, met with the incoming officers remotely answering questions about Society programs and opportunities. On-site discussions and networking opportunities followed as the group bonded over food and laughter, sharing stories and suggestions.
Phi Theta Kappa is the world 91¿´Æ¬ ’s oldest, largest, and most prestigious honor society for two-year colleges. At 101 years old, it has chapters in the United States and ten other nations. Membership is earned based on grades and GPA and carries a lifetime of benefits, including over $91 million in scholarships.
