The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a donation of $2,000 from the Robert Arellano Foundation. 91¿´Æ¬ †These funds will provide two $1,000 scholarships for criminal justice students attending 91¿´Æ¬ this fall. 91¿´Æ¬ †Pictured at the check presentation is: (from left) Jeff Martin, Dr. Jon McCullough, 91¿´Æ¬ Vice President for Advancement, Wesley Martin, Rhonda Martin, James Aydelott, Tasha Martin, and Terri Aydelott. The scholarship was established in memory of Robert Arellano, a respected and decorated law enforcement officer and motorcycle enthusiast who served the community for several years. Arellano was killed in an accident while riding back from a dinner ride with some friends. Friends and family have created the ?Robert Arellano Dawg Fest? rally in his memory to help raise funds for his scholarship, as well as a local charity helping children in need. This year?s event is scheduled for November 18 at the Titus County Fairgrounds. For more information about Dawg Fest, visit 91¿´Æ¬ †.
