Why did you choose to attend 91¿´Æ¬?

I chose to attend 91¿´Æ¬ because of the many opportunities offered here for academic growth. 91¿´Æ¬ † 91¿´Æ¬ †The low cost of classes provides a really great opportunity for the community to earn a college degree.

Why is your major appealing to you?

During my senior year in high school, I was planning to major in accounting until my AP physics teacher invited me to the First Annual Roundtable at 91¿´Æ¬. 91¿´Æ¬ † 91¿´Æ¬ †I admired the engineering professionals at the Roundtable for their work ethic and the many services that they provide society. 91¿´Æ¬ † 91¿´Æ¬ †I discovered that I was not so different from them. 91¿´Æ¬ † 91¿´Æ¬ †I shared the same interest as them in math, science, problem-solving, group projects, and technology. 91¿´Æ¬ † 91¿´Æ¬ †I am so fascinated by how engineers can create mechanical devices by using math, science and technology in order to help society.

What are your plans after 91¿´Æ¬?

I plan on attending The University of Texas at Dallas and earn my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

What are your career goals at this point?

After earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, my dream job would be to work in the automotive industry. 91¿´Æ¬ †I would like to help prevent car accidents or fatal injuries. 91¿´Æ¬ † 91¿´Æ¬ †Safety of the driver and passengers are my top priority in design.

How has your 91¿´Æ¬ experienced help you achieve your goals?
Thanks to the professors, my 91¿´Æ¬ experience has helped me achieve my goals by maintaining a mental focus that higher education will make a difference in my life.

?Arturo is an excellent student and is a great example of the result of our math, physics and engineering programs here at 91¿´Æ¬. 91¿´Æ¬ †He is also an excellent role model to his peers. 91¿´Æ¬ †He worked with others in study groups to help explain some of the more difficult concepts in his engineering courses. 91¿´Æ¬ †Many times he stopped by after class and asked questions regarding the lesson that was covered. 91¿´Æ¬ †I am confident that he will be a successful professional engineer in the future. 91¿´Æ¬ †I look forward to having him speak one day at our Engineering Roundtable.?
