The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $10,000 gift from the East Texas Communities Foundation and the Burt and Nancy Marans Estate. Dr. Brad Johnson, 91¿´Æ¬ President (right) and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 91¿´Æ¬ Vice President for Advancement, are pictured receiving the donation. 91¿´Æ¬ †The funds will be used to begin the restoration process for the Dr. John Biggers mural that will be relocated from Pewitt Elementary School to the 91¿´Æ¬ Charlie and Helen Hampton Learning Resource Center. The mural will be on loan to the college for public display, along with a variety of other Biggers pieces the college already owns. Biggers is a well known, highly respected African American artist, muralist, author and lecturer who passed away in 2001. With the addition of the mural, 91¿´Æ¬ will be home to the largest known collection of Biggers artwork. To learn more about this project, contact McCullough at 903-434-8115. 91¿´Æ¬ â€
