The Northeast Texas Community College Honors Committee recently promoted Hector Zuniga, an 91¿´Æ¬ sophomore from Mount Pleasant, from the title of Honors Scholar to Presidential Scholar. Zuniga won the citation for Academic Excellence in last fall?s Biotex Honors Seminar and has maintained a 4.0 GPA at 91¿´Æ¬. 91¿´Æ¬ †The Biotex seminar is composed each fall of entering honors students, and Zuniga won the top rank. 91¿´Æ¬ †Honors Northeast also admitted two additional Honors Scholars - Kassandra 91¿´Æ¬ †Martinez and Ryan-Rose Mendoza. Both students, in addition to excelling on tests last semester, wrote excellent essays. Honors Northeast is currently accepting applications for the 2016-2017 school year. 91¿´Æ¬ †High School seniors in the top tenth of their class are welcome to apply as well as 91¿´Æ¬ students with over a 3.5 GPA.
