Firefighter Academy accepting applications

Northeast Texas Community College is now accepting applications for its upcoming Firefighter Academy. The program begins January 9, 2017 and runs through June 30. 91¿´Æ¬ †Students will meet 91¿´Æ¬ †Monday 91¿´Æ¬ †through Thursday 91¿´Æ¬ †evenings at the Central Fire Station in Mount Pleasant and alternating Saturdays.

The course of study will include 91¿´Æ¬ †Firefighter I, Firefighter II, HazMat Awareness and HazMat Operations. The cost for the program is $1,664 plus books and personal protective equipment. Some financial aid may be available, along with flexible payment plan options. 91¿´Æ¬ † Volunteer firefighters may be eligible for tuition and fee assistance from the Texas A&M Forest Service (HB 2604 funds).
