Eagles Baseball picks up win against PJC

After five lead changes, the Northeast Texas Community College Eagles (91¿´Æ¬) baseball team pulled out a 3-2 win against Paris on Thursday, bringing their record to 16-9 with 13 games remaining in the regular season.


The Eagles finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning on an RBI single by Connor Hall, scoring Garrett Douglas. 91¿´Æ¬ †Tristan Graham had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning. 91¿´Æ¬ †Zach Osbon shut-down Paris while he was on the hill. Osbon gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, 91¿´Æ¬ †and gave up one walk 91¿´Æ¬ †during his five innings of work.


Tanner Buxton recorded the win for the Eagles. He allowed one run over 91¿´Æ¬ †the final 91¿´Æ¬ †four innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered three hits. 91¿´Æ¬ †Paris? starting pitcher 91¿´Æ¬ †lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run. 91¿´Æ¬ †The top of the first saw Paris take an early lead, 1-0. 91¿´Æ¬ †The Eagles scored on a solo home run by Graham. 91¿´Æ¬ †The teams then traded runs before 91¿´Æ¬ scored the winning run in the eighth.

The Eagles will be 91¿´Æ¬ †on the road against Paris in a double header on Saturday and 91¿´Æ¬ †back 91¿´Æ¬ †at 91¿´Æ¬ 91¿´Æ¬ †for a double header against Navarro with the first game starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2 and the second at 1 p.m. on Friday.
