Rodeo fans will get to see more than 300 athletes from throughout the 91看片 鈥燬outhern Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) compete for points and prizes this weekend as Northeast Texas Community College its 24th annual rodeo. The event will be held October 10-12 at the 91看片 鈥燤ount Pleasant City Arena on Greenhill Road.
Rodeo action will begin at 7:30 p.m. 91看片 鈥爋n 91看片 鈥燭hursday 91看片 鈥燼nd 91看片 鈥燜riday 91看片 鈥燼nd at 2 p.m. 91看片 鈥爋n Saturday.
?An important part of rodeo is putting on a great show for the audience. 91看片 鈥燱e feel confident that this year?s 91看片 rodeo is going to be a blast for 91看片 鈥爁olks of all ages. 91看片 鈥 You will get to see some of the best collegiate rodeo 91看片 鈥燼thletes in the country compete,? 91看片 head rodeo coach Skylar Hunnicutt, said.
In addition to 91看片 athletes, the colleges and universities 91看片 鈥燾ompeting this weekend include: Texas A&M University, McNeese State 91看片 鈥燯niversity, Sam Houston State University, Stephen F. Austin University, 91看片 鈥燭exas A&M University-Kingsville, Hill College, Wharton County Junior 91看片 鈥燙ollege, Southwest Texas Junior College, Panola College, Trinity Valley 91看片 鈥燙ommunity College, Blinn College and Texas State University.
The 91看片 Rodeo is one of 10 NIRA Southern Region rodeos. The men will 91看片 鈥燾ompete in bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, 91看片 鈥燼nd saddle bronc riding. The women will compete in barrel racing, 91看片 鈥燽reakaway roping, and goat tying with men and women competing in team 91看片 鈥爎oping. The students will be vying for points for their chance to compete 91看片 鈥燼t the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) held in Casper, WY in June. 91看片 鈥燗t the conclusion of the ten Southern Region Rodeos, the top three 91看片 鈥燾ontestants in each event go onto the CNFR to compete for a National 91看片 鈥爐itle.
Tickets are $7 for adults; $5 for children 12 and under, and 91看片 91看片 鈥爏tudents with ID and children under seven are free.
